Who is Gina Fava?

I'm a Buffalo, NY native and live with my family in New England. I've written award-winning short stories and belong to Mystery Writers of America and International Thriller Writers. I graduated from the University at Buffalo and later earned a law degree, but it was the bomb scares, run-ins with the Italian military intelligence service, and car chases I endured while studying counter-terrorism and art history at the American University of Rome that spurred my interest in writing thrillers

My latest book, The Sculptor, the Gold Medal winner of the 2015 Indie Awards for Best Mystery/Thriller Ebook, is the first in a mystery series about Mara Silvestri, a grad student who takes matters into her own hands when she's preyed upon by a notorious serial killer. This suspense novel is sure to please fans of  Douglas Preston, Lisa Gardner, and Thomas Harris. My debut novel, The Race, is the first in my series featuring the HELL Rangers, and it's geared toward fans of Lee Child, Dan Brown, Matthew Reilly, and Clive Cussler, that is, toward readers who enjoy action-packed thrillers peppered with history and mystery. My next novel, Formula, a sequel to The Race, is due out soon!

I write nonfiction too, because I love sharing all the research that I uncovered for my novels with those who might find a use for it. I weave informative blog posts, feature articles, and review columns for newspapers, online and print magazines, and private companies, on topics that run the gamut from travel, books, film, art, and wine, to nuclear bombs, car racing, and skiing.

A Formula One racing buff, I'm also a die-hard Sabres and Bills fan. I love watching movies, reading other people's suspense novels, and roaming Italy to hunt down my characters' favorite wines and to research settings for the perfect murder. If you'd like to connect more personally, contact me here.
